Lacey holds a BSN in nursing and worked for 5 years as a postpartum, mother/baby nurse. While she is very thankful for the training she received and the experiences she had as a nurse, she wanted a more personal relationship with those she was serving. She walked away from bedside nursing in 2015 and served the next five years as a housemom in a maternity home located in Raleigh, NC. There she was able to build long term relationships with the residents and had the absolute honor to support many of them during their labor and delivery. Through the ministry she met Susanna who donated birth classes to these underserved young women. When it came time for Lacey to give birth to her daughter in 2018 she was excited to have Susanna be her doula. Having a pain medication free delivery was an incredibly empowering experience for Lacey and she believes the education provided to her and her husband along with the doula service is what made it possible for her to have a peaceful, empowering, and even worshipful childbirth experience. For fun, Lacey enjoys kayaking, listening to crime podcasts, and watching “The Office” on loop. She also loves to throw a party or plan an event more than anyone she knows. She is always ready to celebrate even small milestones and one of her favorite annual traditions is a “Galentines” day gathering that she started with her friends and now plans for her daughter each year. 

 Lacey joined New Creation as the birth photographer in January 2020, later that year she added childbirth educator to her role here. And in December 2021 she took on the mantle of director and owner. She believes God has given her a vision for New Creation that marries all of her education, passions, and life experiences.  She sees New Creation birth and family services as a place where families can come for all of their pregnancy and family related needs. With her and Giles’s experience as houseparents they have developed a unique parenting style that combines many aspects of traditional parenting with more modern and evidence based practices you read about today. She is excited to continue to add parenting classes and many other services to New Creation in order to join hands with families across our community. She wants to see women birthing without fear and families parenting in confidence!  She cannot wait to see that vision become a reality.  While she wears many hats around here, she truly loves each one. So whether you invite her to photograph your birth or teach a course she wants you to remember that YOU are fearfully and wonderfully made! Your body was created to birth this child and you are perfectly equipped to parent this child.
