Naomi

Having worked with families in both the US and abroad, Naomi is increasingly passionate about seeing birth once again viewed as a natural process and not a medical procedure.

A natural calling

Naomi’s preparation to become a doula began in her childhood. Growing up, babies and childcare were as normal to Naomi as breathing air. But Naomi first knew she wanted to pursue becoming a doula after her own mother chose to have midwives and doulas attend her births. Naomi had the honor of a lifetime assisting her mom and ushering into the world her very own baby brother! Birthing with midwives and doulas was very normal to Naomi and she seeks to normalize this mentality in our broader culture. Naomi enjoyed the unique experience of acquiring her doula education while living overseas in Turkey. Desiring to be able to offer any service that may be needed and acquire a well rounded education, Naomi became certified as a Birth and Postpartum Doula, Breastfeeding Counselor and Childbirth Educator with International Doula Institute.Working with families in both the US and abroad, she became increasingly passionate about seeing birth once again viewed as a natural process and not a medical procedure. Her mission and life’s joy is helping mother’s and new families make a strong start together. As a birth doula she does this by providing continuous educational, emotional, and physical support during labor. As a certified postpartum doula she continues that work by supporting a new mom during the recovery process.  She aids a smooth transition of bringing baby home, helping family members bond, and can help the process of preparing to return to work feel less daunting.

Serving moms in the postpartum period Naomi has seen that breastfeeding is a major part of the first few weeks of life and can be a major stressor to many new moms. She decided to get educated so that she could provide even more help as a certified breastfeeding counselor. She is now able to  help mothers make a strong start on their breastfeeding journey; anticipating challenges and potential obstacles - before a woman is in desperate need of help. Being parents is one of the greatest blessings in life, yet it comes with so many unknowns. Most moms just know they are going to be tired! Naomi believes that with compassionate, non-judgemental advice and support, the transition to motherhood can be just as beautiful and empowering as the birth itself! A family is such a wonderful blessing and she is here to help you not merely survive the early days thrive! Ultimately, with Naomi you will be given information so that you can make informed decisions and the grace to make them work in a way that is practical and doable for your family.  She builds a strong relational foundation with each of her clients by spending structured and customized time with you– getting to know you and your goals. Naomi attends Hope Baptist Church and writes children's books part time. She loves to travel the world, read historical fiction, hike in the mountains, exercise, bake healthy desserts, play cello and spend time with family and friends. She can't wait to meet you and serve you in whatever ways you need her care, advice and support!
